[ubuntu] Dual Monitor Issueview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have a Asus hd monitor plugged into my nvidia card and a monitor plugged into my intel graphics card. I have this setup because the second monitor is an older apple cinema plasma display with a dvi interface. It's interface will not fit next to my Asus monitor on the gpu. In windows I can get a dual monitor setup no problem. My motherboard is a Z68 Gigabyte. (Hardware)

[ubuntu] Dell XPS 17 headphones and mic problemsview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi, I have Dell XPS 17 with Ubuntu 12.04 64bit installed. When I plug in the headphones, sound is coming from both headphones and internal speakers. This worked fine on 11.10 64bit, as well as Windows. Also I have a problem on the same notebook with internal microphone (which is not detected and not present in sound preferences). (Hardware)

new 12.04 install (64-bit) - mythweb problemsview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I'm helping a friend with a fresh install of Mythbuntu 12.04. He got it all installed, and had Mythweb working, with the DHCP network settings. The network address he was getting via DHCP was 192.168.0.177. He wanted to have his box using a static IP address so I edited his /etc/network/interfaces file to set eth0 in static IP mode - 192.168.0.177. That part seems to work ok. (Hardware)

http://ubuntuforums.org – After almost one year of (first testing, then) using the several versions of Ubuntu, I became a Linux defender and loving Ubuntu, because: - I love the concept of free and open source software - I hate Apple's attitude, sometimes even worse than Microsoft's - There are really great free or open-source apps that are at least as good as the commercial rivals, like GIMP, LibreOffice and, of course, T (Hardware)

Most of the time, wireless networking doesn't even show up in the Networking menu up near the clock. (Hardware)

[ubuntu] System and program menus overlaidview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Just upgraded to 12.04. When I have Firefox open, its Maximize etc buttons and its menus appear in the same top bar as the system title, and jumble with it. One is over the other, making them illegible. Is there any way to get applications to open in a subordinate space, as in 10.04? (Hardware)
