http://androidforums.com – I recently upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S2 to ICS. I use google contacts to manage my phone numbers and I have my contacts set to only display contacts with phone numbers when I view my contacts. However, why I start a search on my contacts it searches everything on my phone. It searched my sim, all email addresses, everything. I only want to search for contacts with phone numbers in my Google contacts. Is there any way to change this. As far as I can remember this wasn't an issue before I upgraded. Thanks in advance ()

Forgive me as I'm fairly new to android after having a nokia for many many years.

My phone recently upgraded to version 4.1.1 with no problems.

However... in regards to my contacts... it merged all my sim contacts with my phone contacts... which I'm quite happy with by the way.

My question is tho... I have made changes or added new numbers to my phone contacts since the upgrade...

Hi, A few months ago i started using GO Contacts. Back then, I had my contacts stored on my SIM. Later on, I moved all the contacts to the phone, and deleted them from the SIM. Hey Guys, I got all my facebook contacts numbers synced and it comes in contacts but its not coming as phone contacts. Only when it comes as phone contacts i can use them in other apps like Viber and Whatsapp. Its not practically possible add and each very number manually (1800 friends :O). Is there any way to copy facebook numbers to phone contacts or likewise?

I've seen a lot of threads related to this issue ... but I've yet to find a solution. I have a 2008 BMW 335i and I'm connecting my Galaxy Nexus (Android version 4.0.4). I use GMail for contacts (and mail) and sync (via IMAP) with Outlook (on a PC), and iPad, and the Galaxy Nexus.

Hello, I'm trying to help my aunt who's bought a new Samsung Ace to sync her existing contacts (some on sim card, some on phone memory) to her new google account. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to be unable to change the contact group (sim, phone or google.com account) once the contact exists, just right when creating the contact.

I synced up my Note 2 with all my Google contacts, but the problem now is that all the people that have ever contacted me (including spam emailers) are showing up in my phone.

When I press the contacts button on my phone, I've set it to only show only phone contacts. However, when I attempt a text message and search contacts, the contacts from the phone and sim card and email adresses are displayed i.e. many duplications. Can I set the text search to only display the phone contacts ? Thanks.

Hello all, I'm having an issue syncing my contacts and I would really appreciate some help. I have my phone set to sync contacts with my Google account; however, whenever I add new contacts to the phone they are never added to my Google account.

On my Android phone* I have three sets of contacts: the SIM card, the phone itself, and Google(R). Can someone explain how all of these interact with each other?

My previous phone was a park-it-pc with win-doze 6.1. I had all of my contacts on SIM, the phone, and whatever ActiveSync does. When I got my 'droid, I simply moved the SIM card and started using the phone.
