I'm trying to strengthen my server's security. I have a pretty standard CentOS VPS setup.
Below is a list of both TCP and UDP ports configured in my CSF firewall. These ports were open by default since I got my server. I have compiled as much information about these as I can find.
Some ports are obvious to me and I should keep them open (HTTP, POP, cPanel, etc).
(My question isn't really about Django. It's about alternative http ports. I just happen to know Django is a relatively famous application that uses 8000 by default, so it's illustrative.)
I have a dev server in the wild that we occasionally need to run multiple httpd services on on different ports.
I have a laptop and a server (Home-Server) with fc17. They are both using the desktop environment. I am trying to set up a VNC server on Home-Server so that I can set everything up without having to sit in front of it for everything.
I have tried using the VNC server software included in the distro. and I have tried using TigerVNC Server. I can't get either one to work.
I'm running a CentOS Server with iptables to control ports. Today I scanned a server of a friend with nmap and results ended up with "All ports are filtered". I know there are something like 40 ports open, but they don't show up. So my question is, how can I do the same on my server. I don't want people to scan and see open ports on my server.
Thank you!
I was looking to link up a NAS and a Server via this switch http://support.netgear.com/app/products/model/a_id/19324
Then use it to build out the rest of the network in a small office server cabinet. I want to make sure that I can get all the 10gbe ports on the same network though and it appears that port 51 and 52 are only valid as uplink ports.
Hello folks,
I have an AIX server that is connected to a storage array via a Brocade switch using 4 ports from either side. The zoning is done such that there are 4 paths visible from the server to the storage.
My work involves frequent disabling or enabling the switch ports that are connected to the server.
I am trying to set up a Websphere/IHS configuration for testing a project in my development machine.
I have Websphere 7 (developer version) and IHS 7 installed on a Windows 7 machine. I can reach my application on Websphere 7 entering the URL http://[my-host]:9080/myapp and that's how I have been testing it so far.
I have Lync 2010 Standard deployed in my environment, along with an edge server. On my firewall I have NAT'd the public address(s) to the server. Right now I have all the ports opened for these addresses to work, but now I want to lock this down for security concerns. Is there a complete list of ports that Lync needs opened in order to work properly?
Dear All
