– Hi guys,I'm trying to install Arch on an external hard drive, and making it bootable. However, I can't install grub on it. The grub installation failed during setup, and when I run grub-install, I get:/usr/sbin/grub-setup: warn: This GPT partition label has no BIOS Boot Partition; embedding won't be possible!. /usr/sbin/grub-setup: warn: Embedding is not possible. GRUB can only be installed in this setup by using blocklists. However, blocklists are UNRELIABLE and their use is discouraged.. /usr/sbin/grub-setup: error: will not proceed with blocklists. ubuntu@ubuntu:/$ sudo gru ()

$ sudo grub-install -v grub-install (GRUB) 2.00-7ubuntu11

$ sudo grub-install /dev/sda3 /usr/sbin/grub-bios-setup: warning: File system `ext2' doesn't support embedding. /usr/sbin/grub-bios-setup: warning: Embedding is not possible. GRUB can only be installed in this setup by using blocklists.

Thanks for the quick response.I typed:# grub-install --target=i386-pc --recheck /dev/sda

i still get

Hello, recently I updated Ubuntu and when I restarted my computer both my windows and linux partitions were greeted with a flashing _ (My Mac partition works just fine) I've searched around for solutions but none have worked, in the attached is a copy of my RESULTS.txt.
