I have a Windows 2008 server that is running an SMTP server. The server has a public IP Address. I have 2 other windows servers, not in the same network, that are used for hosting client applications. We have a need to make sure that the emails sent through the client application to the SMTP server look like they originate from the original domains.
I have two ip addresses on my server, First IP is assigned to my clients, second is assigned to me.
Issue started today.
My clients can not send mail via php from their ip address (shared ip address which are all of them using).
Server is refusing it with error
ERROR: Password not accepted from server: 535 Incorrect authentication data

How should I set up the DNS to improve email deliverability for the outbound-only email server.

We have a mail server running Debian 5.0. It is one year old now but we want to deploy a new server with Ubuntu Server 10.04. The problem is that we want to transfer all the user mails and settings to the new mail-serverl. So all their usernames and passwords should be the same, all their mails should be transferred successfully to the new mail server.
I have a customer who has recently begun using GFI Mail protection and archiving to take care of some legal requirements to archive e-mail.
We seem to have the incoming working fine. We changed the MX records to reflect the GFI mail servers. However, I need to force my cpanel server to send e-mails from their domain to the gfi outbound smtp server.

after installation finished i faced a problem with setup mail account on Mozilla Thunderbird mail client that it show problem "Configuration could not be verified --- is the username or password wrong?" & I am sure that i typed it correctly.
