http://askubuntu.com – Diagnosis indicates installation recognizes both onboard ethernet ports (using forcedeth) but wired computer is not getting IP address from router. I have connected both ethernet ports directly to the router. Windows installation on this computer (on HDs disconnected during Ubuntu install) using same wiring is able to get IP addresses and connect to the network. Have edited /etc/network/interfaces to force static IP to no avail. What should I try next? Fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 (from CD, performed 7/31) Used acpi=off and nomodeset options during install Added acpi=off option to /etc/defa ()
