I recently tried to run the script to set my cpu to ondemand and I've discovered that the folders and scaling_governor files are no longer. The path to these had been : /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor. (HowTos)

Email this pagehttp://crunchbang.org – The kernel is probably not very important for OpenGL speed as long the driver you use supports it.For hardware acceleration of any kind nouveau is the slower (possibly much slower) choice.The nvidia proprietary drivers will give you much faster OpenGL speed than noveau.Their recent drivers have had (according to them) major improvements to OpenGL speed in response to Steam for Linux.The 200 series (HowTos)
