http://askubuntu.com – My printer started to print 4 pages per side just like if I had it this way (but I did not, and if I do it prints 4 tiny pages on 1/4 of the sheet). I tried with different applications (Libre Office, Envince) and to restart the system, but it remains the same. The printer is an canon i560 which never caused me problems so far. (HowTos)

I read a Linux-related article that Canon uses it's own network protocol: bjnp. The result is the same in SimpleScan and XSane - the scanned document shows a randomly placed grayish fields,(the original on the attatchemt is a white paper with no shades) see the attachment.
