Lost wired connection after VirtualBox upgradeview story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – I just upgraded to the latest version of VirtualBox (3.2.12), and following that, I lost my wired connection on my Statler virtual machine being run on my Mac.  I lost it only when running an openbox session; it's still fine in xfce.  I think I know what's wrong, but not how to fix it.  When I go to edit my connection, the box "available to all users" is unchecke (HowTos)
