[ubuntu] Samba - Shared Data with fixed folder structureview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – We want to fix our data folders structre in Samba, for example our folders would be like as Data/Group A/2010 /A We want all our users can work only in folder A and no one can create any files in data, GroupA, 2010 folders. Similarly no one can delete these basic folders. However users can create further folders in A as required. Is this possible in samba? (HowTos)

ARM linux 2.6.30.4 booting optimizationview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Hi, I am using ARM linux 2.6.30.4 on samsung s3c2440 development platform. The boot loader I am using is u-boot and the file system is yaffs2 on a 64 MB nand. Once the board boots up, a GUI application is loaded together with the kernel (with the help of startup script in /etc/init.d/rcS). I need to optimize the booting time of the board plus the starting of the application. (HowTos)

#! Libre?view story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – I dare to mention this bearing in mind the strong feelings it produces but...  has anyone considered a #! libre edition, only including fully free software?  I'm quite a fan of Trisquel, but I love the lightweight hackable nature of #!Sometimes I feel bits of 'proprietary guilt' for using flash etc...[time to hide] (HowTos)

Firewalls & NFS mounting 1-2-3view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Hello everyone- I'm a Fedora user who has recently installed F14. For a long time now, I've struggled quite a bit with firewalls and NFS. As frequently with things of the internet, there's plenty of information out there on how to get the firewall to work with NFS, but none of it seems to read as simply as the very basic recipe I'll call out below. [ubuntu] Internet stopped workingview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – My internet just went out on me. I originally thought the wifi card stopped working. It won't even let me "Enable wireless networking." I hooked my laptop up to the router to see if I could just reinstall the drivers. It showed my cards driver as deactivated, but it won't reactivate. When I'm hooked up directly it won't let me do anything either. (HowTos)

/usr/supporterview story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – I think we should form some type of user group on the forum that receives a custom title by making a donation, and thus being a "supporter". Probably based upon an annual or monthly donation, or even just from donating on the home page, I don't know I'll leave it up to Core and the Community to decide on this.WTB Feedback. :o (HowTos)
