[ubuntu] Working with USB sticks - when to remove etcview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I don't get any kind of "Now you can remove your USB stick" notifications in Ubuntu, and frankly have no idea if and when the files I was copying to/from it are written/read. The copy dialog does not appear for small files, but a lot of errors occasionally popup that have to do with removing the stick too early. That is not a good user interface. (Hardware)

[SOLVED] USB memory shows wrong valueview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I recently tried to partition my usb drive using Gparted and it went wrong, it said neither operation could be completed (I was making 2 partitions; 800MB and the rest to fill the 3.7GB drive). Now both windows and ubuntu see the drive as being 838.9MB. I've tried formatting in windows but it only gives the option to format size: 800MB. (Hardware)

[ubuntu] How to disable (t400s) the touchpad in Ubuntu v9.10 beta?view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi, all. I've been working with t400s (Lenovo). Ubuntu v9.04 does not have any problem with my laptop, but Ubuntu v9.10 beta has a problem. One thing I found is that I cannot disable the touchpad. The function key for enabling and disabling the touchpad ( Fn + F8 ) does not work. Note that other function keys are well working. (Hardware)
