White Sceen on mouseoverview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Whenever I pull up a menu or go to look at files, and mouse-over them, they turn white, almost as if I was pulling a curtain over them, to the point where I can't see them without getting really close to the screen (even on a 32" TV) and even then, it's still hard to read what's there. Scrolling down a list is agonizing! Is there a "workaround" or fix for this? (Hardware)

When I open up my Desktop apps..the windows have no close or minimise optionsview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – When i open up system settings or any of my desktop apps...i can no longer move my windows around the screen. There is no toolbar options with the 'x' to close window, or to minimise the window. This is making it difficult for me to operate or use the computer. I think some keyboard shortcut has been pressed by mistake. How do I get my window toolbars back? (Hardware)

[ubuntu] grub boot screenview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I recently installed Ubu 14.04 on 3 computers. This is a bit of grub.cfg if [ x$feature_timeout_style = xy ] ; then ### set timeout_style=hidden set timeout=30 # Fallback hidden-timeout code in case the timeout_style feature is # unavailable. elif sleep --interruptible 0 ; then set timeout=0 fi This '### set timeout_style=hidden' causes the boot screen to be black. DMRAID Multiple RAID10 Array Dependence + TrueCrypt Can't Access Secondary Arrayview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I'm not new to linux, but I was trained in the ways of RedHat (actually CentOS/Fedora, but close enough), so Ubuntu/debian is still a bit foreign to me. (Hardware)

Ice Pack on Tower?view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – A buddy once mentioned to me that he sometimes tapes an ice pack to his computer's tower to keep it from running hot. Right now, here in Columbus, Ohio, USA, it's 90 degrees in the shade and the cpu fan is spinning overtime. Is it safe (to the computer) for me to prop an ice pack against the motherboard side of my computer tower (the first one in my signature, below)? (Hardware)
