The file loads in Libre Office Writer, but it is not readable (text, but characters, not English). Can someone recommend a utility that will read this file (ca. 600 pages in length and about 3MB in size). I am using Ubuntu 12.04.2 as a live pendrive. Thanks (Hardware)

I successfully installed Skype following instructions that I found here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lu..._install_Skype I can launch Skype using alt+F2 but I can't see it in the Internet menu. Is there a way to see it in this menu? I know almost nothing concerning pcs. Thank you. (Hardware)

The transparency isn't normal and the borders don't align properly. Below is an image I took showing that this is the case.
