PIR motion sensor circuit helpview story

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com – Hi all, I am looking to add a motion sensing circuit to a CRT clock that I recently built. I would like the sensor disconnect one of the cathode ray tube's heater wires when motion is no longer detected after 10-15 minutes in order to prolong the life of the tube. (the CRT heater is 6.3v.). I am thinking a PIR module and 555 timer that would trigger a relay to "open" the heater wire. (Embedded)

Antenna Designingview story

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com – I am new to the field of radio transmission. I working on a project that involves transmission of 434 Mhz signal through a transmitter receiver pair. I want a directed antenna so that they can communicate only through reflection from other surface. I need it to be low powered as i require a battery and the range be 150 m (80 m approx if it receives from a reflection.) . (Embedded)

Root Locus Design Extra Credit Problem Due Tomorrow!view story

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com – My professor gave the class an extra credit problem to try and make up for the low test average (less than 50%) from our first exam. The problem is a root locus design. The Gp(s) = 1/s(s^2+4s+5). He gave an example using a PI compensator, in which he used a K value of 3, resulting in: Overshoot:38.36% Tp=4.55 Ts= 9.04 He wants us to get a settling time, Ts, less than 5 seconds. (Embedded)

li-ion vs aa batteriesview story

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com – Hello. I have an rc car that has a 4 as battery pack that's makes it 6 volts, I have some 3.7v li-ion cell phone batts. So 2 of those in a series would be 7.4v with a combined current of 1800mAh. If I regulated the voltage down to 6v would they perform better and longer than the 4 as batteries? (Embedded)

Traffic signal/7 segment displayview story

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com – I know I am jumping in from no where but thought it would be helpful. The thing is that I am new to PIC 16F877A and have made this simple code on PROTON IDE which is abt controlling 2 traffic signals and running a counter at the same time. (Embedded)

mosfet not switchingview story

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com – I have a project that is using a car battery for power and a 5 volt touch plate as the signal. When i connect to power and i turn it on ( touch the switch) it turns on but it does not turn off. I am not sure where to go from here. Is the resistor from gate to source the wrong value? Help with non working transmitterview story

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com – Needing help with a 150w transmitter. Not really sure what I'm looking at and wondered if anybody does! I'm only used to little 15w ones. I have attached an image of what I have. Thanks Attached Images image.jpg (160.7 KB) (Embedded)

Efficiency of RFMD,s RF6886 HPAview story

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com – Hello, We are using RF6886 power amplifier in our application. We tested RF6886 for our application. But we got very less efficiency. Current consumption was very high. The gain was also not constant. (Embedded)

12V bus transceiverview story

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com – Hi, I need to design a circuit or find an IC that can switch several bus lines up to 12v. They also need to go to high impedance so that they do not interfere with the other devices on the bus. I have used a TI device before, which works great, but only goes up to 5v max. Ideally, it also needs to be ESD protected. Anyone got any ideas? Much appreciated (Embedded)
