Why do caps blow? ie, swellview story

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com – Hi, this seems like a common enough problem in diagnosing a faulty board, in my case an lcd tv's power supply board. But my question is general, what causes caps to blow or swell up, can we make a list of any possible reason is appreciate! Thanks! (Embedded)

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com – Dear all. Here i am trying to do simple algorithm.I wanna formula to calculate actual position in algorithm Desired angle calculation: desired angle=-0.00227272727273x + 102.272727273 where x= (3600*hour)+(minute*60) actual angle:actual actuator stroke is 600mm ,3.2mm/sec speed ,0.192mm/min. I wanted to run actuator from morning 7 AM to 18PM. (Embedded)

Faulty board from an electric heaterview story

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com – Hi, please see attached picture. This came from my electric heater. The lcd display doesn't come on. The 110VAC is available and goes into the board you see and out to another board to convert to 5 and 12 vdc which gets wired back to the mainboard in picture. So I see the 5 and 12vdc and 110vac available on the mainboard, but the lcd doesn't light up and the nothing is ON. (Embedded)

I almost caused serious injury to myselfview story

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com – This just happened about 5 minutes ago. I had just bought a pair of 72 watt bulbs and one of them would not work. So, I looked at the contacts on the '3 bulb tree' (you know, one of those lightstands that has 3 adjustable mini lamp shades) and the one in the middle seemed to be recessed in compared to the other two. This is where my carelessness came into play. (Embedded)

12 V DC Motorsview story

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com – I've built an electric spinning wheel, an e-spinner for short. Currently, I'm using a Mabuchi #RS-555PH from Allelecrtronics.com with this controller. It's remarkable what these little motors can do, and their prices make them seem even more remarkable. I've gotten all the little bangs, creeks, and whines worked out of the e-spinner's mechanical parts. (Embedded)
