Greetings from taiwanview story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – Hello all. I am a teacher in Taiwan. I have been using Linux since Nov. 2007 when my school gave me a new laptop with Chinese Windows on it. That was the last straw! Since then I have been using Ubuntu, Mint, LMDE and other Debian-based distros on a variety of pc's. I think Crunchbang is the best! Thanks to all the developers for this extremely cool distro! (HowTos)

Old Forums - A wealth of information?view story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – It is great to have these new forums, however, they are currently somewhat sparse and lack much in the way of useful information. For anyone looking for support, it might be worth your while checking out the old forums. They are still online and have been set to read-only. You can access them at the following location:http://crunchbang.org/forums/ (HowTos)

Alternative to lshw?view story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – Does anyone know of something kind of like lshw, but with prettier output? lshw-gtk is rather nifty, of course, but a CLI tool that presented the data at least as, err, readably as dxdiag in Windows would be SWEET.(For those who don't know, I'm talking about something that tells me about the hardware in my computer.) [ubuntu] Wireless suddenly deadview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I've had the odd issue with my wireless PCI card over the past few months but a reboot seemed to cure it. Yesterday it seemed to die altogether. NO mention of wlan0 in any lists and no connection. Tried moving the card to another PCI slot which I knew worked as it had been housing a USB extension card but still no worky worky. (HowTos)

using shell to create a default web page for new usersview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I came across this script a while back that i found. What i want to do is edit the script to create a default web page in /var/www/html when a new user is added through the script. What the script does now is adds a user and sets a password for the user. What possible way (either through a combination of python or c or some other language) could i add to the shell script to do this? (HowTos)
