Will the Unity launcher ever be animated?view story

http://askubuntu.com – Moving my mouse over the Unity launcher feels like I'm moving my mouse over the desktop wallpaper. Lifeless. Will the developers ever consider animating the launcher so that the mouse experience is a bit enhanced? I'm not here to give ideas, but even if the icons increased in size on a mouse-over event, would be a better than nothing. Or changed colour. (HowTos)

Sending lost signal with kill processview story

http://unix.stackexchange.com – How do you send a lost signal with the kill process command? I have tried all of them I thought but still cannot figure this out. Any help is greatly appreciated. To send signals to the program, launch another terminal window and enter the command kill -3 1111 where 1111 is replaced with the process ID reported by sigCatch. What does sigCatch report? (HowTos)

http://serverfault.com – I'm setting up a continuous integration solution involving .NET solutions and MSSQL 2008 Databases. All my build servers sit in an AD security group called Build Servers. I've created the DOMAIN\Build Servers object as an MSSQL login and granted the group the dbcreator and securityadmin server roles. (HowTos)

Make a file accesible by PHP but not from the outsideview story

http://serverfault.com – My host gives me two folders for my use, a /home/public/ which is where the pages go, and /home/private/, which is for my personal use. I would like for PHP to create a file that's readable by me from the machine but not by anyone else over the internet. Making the file in the public folder causes this problem. I thought about making the file owned by the apache group, but I'm not a member of it. (HowTos)

Restore MySQL Databases from File backups, not MySQL Exportview story

http://serverfault.com – I've got a Windows Server and I get Windows Server Backup to backup all the files every day. I don't however have a system image so I cannot use that. I've tried just copying the database files into the MySQL Data folder, but most/all of the tables are missing (wordpress). Is there any other way I could recover this data? I believe it was using InnoDB. (HowTos)
