[ubuntu] How to solve this *%$#@ Unity launcher focus bugview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – This Unity bug doesn't seem to end; the issue is the one where the Unity launcher (in 11.10) loses focus and ends up behind opened windows. It's a hit-and-miss because it's nearly impossible to find the pattern that leads to this undesirable behaviour. The only solution is to log out and log in until it works. (Hardware)

[ubuntu] gnome-shell gvim screen lagview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I'm hoping that someone else has had this problem, and found a solution to it. I've recently fallen in love with gvim, and at this point spend about eight to ten hours a day using it. I've been having a problem with the screen refresh rate though which is pretty distracting. [all variants] tool to show repository packagesview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Is there a tool that, given a repository URL, will show all the packages at that repository? If it can fetch package descriptions, that's even better. To clarity, I want more than just "apt-get update". I want to do this intentionally without adding such a repository to my sources.list (it is in part decide if I want to add it or not). (Hardware)

[ubuntu] (11.04) 10 Minutes to shut down... Idea's?view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I suppose its not that big of a deal, because my system starts up quite fast. But for some reason, shutting down can take as long as 10 minutes, which can be irritating when rebooting. I assume some error is causing this, but I don't know where to begin with identifying and solving the problem. I think it may have something to do with a permanent network drive I have mounted in fstab taking a w (Hardware)
