[ubuntu] Brightness problem Samsung N150 Plusview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello, I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 x32 on my Netbook Samsung N150 Plus. It seems that I cannot adjust the brightness level within Ubuntu but I have been always able to do it from the Grub menu. Well, but the problem is that since some time ago when I log in Ubuntu sometimes the brightness seems to be crazy. It goes up and down automatically. Is anyone having the same problem? (Hardware)

[ubuntu] Ubuntu Doesn't Detect Media in USB Card Readerview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have a Digital Concepts CR-75 51-in-1 USB card reader. When I plug it in by itself, I get four new empty partitions that show up (labeled 'Myson'). However, when I insert an SD card or mini SD card into the appropriate slot, the partition where that card would mount at seems to disappear. The other unused ones still show up, but obviously are inaccessible because of lack of media. (Hardware)

http://ubuntuforums.org – I've had a ThinkPad X200 for several months now. When I originally got it, I installed Natty (11.04) and it worked flawlessly. But a week or so ago I started fiddling with custom PPAs for the Intel GMA HD 3000 graphics card (this: https://launchpad.net/~f-hackenberge...220-intel-mesa and related) and got major graphics problems, with whole windows not rendering properly. [ubuntu] Laptop lockup issueview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10 on an Acer Aspire 5610. The system appears completely stable until I try to do things like listen to music or watch a video. Seems if there is no input from the user (keyboard or using touchpad) the computer appears to hang or go into sleep mode of some kind after only about 5 seconds. Once you press a key or use touchpad - it's back to normal. (Hardware)

[ubuntu] Setting the warmup time on a HP 3570c scanner under sane - possible?view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi, I've 'inherited' a Hewlett Packard 3570c scanner that's supported under Sane by the Hp3500 backend. The backends for several other scanners seem to have text config files (eg 'etc/sane.d/plustek.conf') that allow several options to be set, one of which is 'option warmup' to set the warmup time. There's no such text file for the HP3500 backend, is there a way to change the warmup time (Hardware)

[other] Possibly damaged SD card reader?view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Greetings, My question isn't exactly Ubuntu specific, but I've decided to search for an answer here, rather than call Dell to get my problems fixed. Please forgive my lack of common sense. I've recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 15, and installed Ubuntu with minimal effort, no software problems encountered. (Hardware)
