[ubuntu] nVidia Graphics Driver Problemsview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hey Community, I booted up today in the standard 'Ubuntu' environment and my Unity desktop is gone. The window effects are still working, but the side bar doesn't come up. When I log in to a 2D environment, the sidebar and windows behave well, but the compiz effects don't work. I'm thinking there's an issue with the nVidia drivers. (Hardware)

[ubuntu] A couple of questions...view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi - I use Oneiric Ocelot (gnome without effects version) and need a bit of help. My desktop was completely black with just the Ubuntu gnome icon sitting in the top left. I can't delete the top panel the same way as the bottom one so I just made it black to go with the rest of the desktop. Is there any way to keep the gnome icon but completely remove the top panel? [ubuntu] TTY resolution in 11.10view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi all, I've followed several tutorials without success; as far as I am aware, all of them were for older Ubuntu versions. I've modified /etc/default/grub and /etc/grub.d/00_header The only hex code that's produced some sort of visible difference is the one for 8-bit 1200x800, which ended up running off the screen. I'm hoping to get it working with 1280x1024 at any number of bits. (Hardware)
