[ubuntu] Single user mode: Can't mount root as read-onlyview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I am running Ubuntu 10.10 in an asus netbook. I want to grab a dd image of the root filesystem, in order to save it for later restoration, in case the system gets bloated. I used to do this in debian once in a while, to have "working" instances of my system. But in Ubuntu 10.10, I see that in the root shell prompt of the single user mode, all services are running. [ubuntu] Postfix & web front end on separate serversview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I'm fairly new to Ubuntu. Downloaded and installed my first Ubuntu server this week and so far I'm very happy with my decision. I set up a web server and within a very short time I had a WordPress blog up and running. Very easy and straightforward. What I would like to do is install another separate server that will function as an email server. I will probably end up hosting 2-3 domains. (Hardware)

[ubuntu] Wine & Hard Drive Spaceview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hey all, I am brand new to Ubuntu. I have had it for about a week. I love it and all. I am using wine to run a windows program. Ubuntu 11.10 is installed on my OS hard drive which is roughly 50GB. I want to keep as much stuff off that hard drive as possible. Is there a way to install a program through wine onto my secondary hard drive that is 500GB? If so how do I do that. (Hardware)
