In Debian I have 45/40C and in Windows XP it is also normal. CPU fan works on high speed every time. CPU freq controller is running, 99% CPU is free and lm-sensors work correctly. I like using the 'extended desktop' - the audience sees the powerpoint presentation, and I see the 'presenter mode'. The screensaver works fine when my laptop is running on AC power, but when it runs on battery power, the screensaver doesn't appear when locking the screen or waiting for it to activate.
