[ubuntu netbook remix] Tweaking a metapackage's dependenciesview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Recently, I have installed ubuntu netbook remix and I am pretty satisfied with it. On an eeepc 1005 ha everything seems to be recognised by default. I am not sure how the chipset is handled (which includes the GPU), but the rest is Ok. The CPU switches to a good power management, the sound, webcam, wireless all work out of the box. And it is surprisingly how slim the distro can be kept. (Hardware)

[ubuntu netbook remix] eeepc 1005ha wifi not turning back onview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Using the default install of netbook remix with all updates. Say I open for offline reading something than turn the wifi off to save same battery. If I turn the wifi back on in a couple of minutes everything works fine. Otherwise the led turns on, but there is no activity and the network manager does not pick any more networks. So far only a restart would solve the problems. (Hardware)

[ubuntu netbook remix] Why aren't the powertop suggestions set up by default in netbook remix?view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Each time I start powertop after a boot I have the same suggestions over again. Why aren't them in by default, after all it is a distro for netbooks so battery would be one of the main concerns. It's about the writes on the disk, the usb not set on autosleep, even the mount options were tweaked by me to noatime. (Hardware)
