But when I use another app to add or select files, like Rhythmbox or Tweak Tool, the folders are empty. Is there a fix or workaround for this? Thanks. (Hardware)

Simple Scan says Unable to start scan, Xsane ditto plus Error during device I/O. I put the dvd in, rebooted and it kinda started to load windows I didn't even see an Ubuntu logo, it just did the normal Windows loading screen with the loading bar that goes around and around. I have everything in xen working perfectly and have also converted the Vmware images to .img files. Unfortunately, whoever set up these servers originally gave them 400gb dynamically sized disks, so when I convert them, I end up with 400gb .img files. (Hardware)
