[ubuntu] Ubuntu 9.10 Freezing (unresponsive keys, laggy or unresponsive mouse)view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Im extremely uber nub when it comes to Ubuntu (first distro) and I'm having troubles with it freezing on me. It seems that it takes longer to freeze if I haven't used my laptop in a while as opposed to trying to reboot after a freeze, where it almost freezes instantly again. Any help would be great.
