Help with GNUBIFF Authorizationsview story

http://forums.opensuse.org – I notice that every time I either reboot or power up the system I get a authorization request to enter my email address an password for GNUBiff. I've never seen this before on Debian distributions and was wondering if this is particular for RPMS? Is there a way to correct this so it will automatically load up without me having to enter this each and every time? Thank You. (Distributions)

kpanel 3 gone missingview story

http://forums.opensuse.org – I've just upgraded a client's laptop from 10.0 to 11.3, and I've stubbed my toe on just the latest in a long line of "Release Configuration Managers hate customers" issues in my SuSE experience of late. While 11.3 includes all the kdebase3 RPMs except -session, I've installed that as well, and I *still* don't seem to have kpanel. (Distributions)

Re-purposing hardware?view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Anyone out there re-purposing hardware under linux? I do not have any real money for all the fancy Arduinos and such, so I have been using the parallel port to do some interfacing with re-purposed parts. I have (did have before I started extracting parts) a bunch of old 5 1/4" drives, printers, and scanners. Stepper motors are the biggest find. (HowTos)

Enabling sleep/hibernate/etc. buttons on Thinkpad X32 (Slack 13.1)view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Hi all, I have some problems getting some of the buttons on my Thinkpad working properly. Volume buttons, thinklight, etc. work through tpb. It's the other buttons (sleep, hibernate, etc.) that are causing problems. The wireless radio button also works. I can hibernate and suspend successfully from the command-line using pm-suspend, etc. (HowTos)
